I grew up in London in the 60s in my grandmother’s house in Notting Hill. She was a pianist and we had a Steinway at home.
After getting a music degree from Dartington College of Arts, I studied composition with John Tavener.
Alongside composing, I’ve spent much of my life teaching music to children and young adults both in and outside the classroom.
Since moving to Zürich, I have been fascinated by language acquisition and have spent several years teaching Swiss German children English as a second language through music and drama.
I bought my first video camera in the early 2000s and have been using it to visualise my own and other composers’ scores, as well as to accompany me in my teaching.
